M., May 3, 1949. There were present: Mayor Marvin G. Graham, presiding Councilmen: l~C. D. Aust, 0. 0. Crowell, I. R. Carper,• H. R. Imboden, L. C. Lemons, G. R. Steger, T. F. Wirt. Absent: ~. F. White. : Also present: E.A.Beck, Town Mgr.; Clerk: Verna L. Dalton; Town Att. o~f~'cials. The minutes of the regular semi-monthly mee-tang held on April 19 and of the special meeting held April 26, 1949 were read and approved. r CARSON BURKES The Town Manager reported theC'arson B~.trkes claim 'CLAIM had been settled for X75.00. On motion duly made by H. R. Imboden, seconded by G. R. Steger, and unanimously carried,~it was ORIIAINED, that parking on north Madison Avenue on the East side, approximately 100 feet south of the inter- section of Fifth Street and Madison Avenue, and for a distance of approximately 80 feet south, shall be restricted to one- hour parking between the hours 8 A..M. and 6 P. M. on all days except holidays and Sundays, and that this shall be enforced the same as other parking regulations. On motion duly made by T. F. Wirt, seconded by I.R. Carper, and unanimously carried, it was RESOLVED, that the following building permit appli- cations be granted: To Miss Virginia Sloan (by Frank Elmore) for two-story brick eased-veneer d~relling on the west side of Randol~3h Avenue, between 10th and 11th Streets, to cost estimated 18,000.00; To Hank S':tumpf of the Fairlawn Landscape & Nursery Company for frame stand, portable, on north side of Main Street, between 2nd and 3rd Streets, to be removed within six months, estimated cost of300.00. Avenue dust south of the corporate limit line, and that the owner of the pigpen also located nearby be ordered to remove the ~ ame - all to be done within fifteen days, at the end of which time the Town shall have them removed. ~ I PARKLAND The improvement of the parkland just at the south IMPROVEMENT g0~ entrance of Town was discussed, and it was determined that he PUILASKI j Town should have this land improved and made into a suitabl park space. It was reported that the wall along the creek rapidly deteriorating, and that it would be necessary to red this with a suitable pipe to loin with the pipe under Calfe~ Field at a future date. POLICE On motion duly made by T.F.Wirt, seevnded by CAR• H.R.Tmboden, it was unanimously REPLACEMENT RESOLVED, that the Town Manager secure•bid Ilace proposals for purchase of new Police car replacement. .1486 Council Minutes Conttd. FINANCING and sewer connection charges was discussed, and it was decided that the Town Manager should prepare a summary outline of the plans discussed. On motion duly made by H. R'. Imbod_ en, _ seconded by G. R.
