ALLEGED FIRE Mr. W. F. White stated that the matter of a HAZARD - 153 Rand. fire hazard had been brought to his attenti©n concerning the Avenue RESOLUTION ELECTION RETURNS building at 153 Randolph Avenu®, which was not regularly uaed. It was determined that the Town Attorney and Town Manager shoul d investigate as to any special action the Council might take. ~ On motion duly made by T. F. Wirt, seconded by W.F. White, and unanimously carried WHEREAS, the regular Town election for the Town Qf Pulaski, Virginia was duly held on the 13th day of dune, 1950, pursuant to the election laws made and providing fbr the holding of toNn elections in the State of Virginia; and 1~HEREAS , one set of Doff is ial returns" have been returned by the election officials to the Town Council of pulaski,Virginis; and WHEREAS, the Council of the Town of Pulaski is the judge of the election, qualifications, and returns of its employees; and WHEREAS, the Council have judged the said returns and have found them to be in proper order; - NC~IF, THEREFORE, -Be It Resolved, that the said election returns be accepted and recorded in the record book of said Council, and that the m®mbers so elected be seated. ~ ~ (S'e® end of minutes for election returns ). The matter of attending League of Virginia "' Municipalities meeting by members of the Council and delegaia~s frcm~ the Town was discussed, and it was urged by the Mayor tat as many as possible make plans to attend. It was stated th it was customary for the Town to pay the expense of delegate. On motion duly made by 0. 0. Crowell, second~d by T. F. Wirt, it was unanimously RESOLVID, that the side~a.lk in front of the ttlaski Hospital, Inc. be replaced on new grade and adjacent to the r esent curb and gutter, contingent upon the hospital agreeing to ps~ one- , third (1~3) of the actual cost involved, and furth®r, that t~.ia be handled as apart of the Randolph Avenue Nidening Pro3ect, id that the Virginia Department of Highw~ s be requested to iss.e th® contractor a change order for the work, it being reported that no part of the cost would be paid by the Highway Department. E. between YM'alnut and Franklin Avenues be APPROPRIATION approved, subject to the obtaining of Right-of-way for the r~~c- essary sewer line from Seventh to Eighth Street, across priro~~te property, and further, sub~eet to the payment of Fifty (~50,~ 0) Dollars for a minimum of sixteen property connections, to b9lpaid in advance, and it is further authorized that. an appropriat~bn oP Two Thousand Seven Hundred S'-eventy-Seven (2,777.50) Dollard and Fifty Cents be made from the General Fund, to cover the ent#~e i cost of this project. . Crowell, it was unanimouslg resolved WHEREAS, the Charter of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, by Section 11, paragraph 3, Sub-Section 2, page 619, Act of Assemblg 1948, does authorize the said Town to designate certain banks or trust companies as depositories for said Rinds of the Town of Pulaski, and does ,Further authoriz® th® Town to require that said banks or trust companies receiving said funds post sufficient collateral to secure said funds for any loss or failure of said banks to peg upon proper order of said Town; and ~9FIEREAS, the Town. of Pulaski, ,acting by its Council, has heretofore designated such depositories within the Town of Pulaski, but does now desire to re-designate them for the purpose of carrying out the authoritg hereinabove recited: N01~i, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bg the Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, meeting in Special session, on this the lst day of September,, 1950, as follows: {l) That the Peoples National Bank and the Pulaski National Bank, both of Pulaski, Virginia, and being organized under tt~ laws of the United States of America, be, and theg hereby are,. designated as depositories to receive and hold the said funds therein deposited .bg the.
