VnLLEY RO~D~~ Carper, and unanimously passed a petition presented by a delegation from Valley Road, requesting hard surfaced road, was referred to the Street committee for inve~tiga- tion. No action was taken on the same petition, requesting sewer extensions to this section. On motion of G. C. gall, seconded by H. Pulaski, Va., Nov. 8, 1945 In the matter of a roadway on Pine St. S. ~~. between PINE ST. B,O~yiky First St. and ~~.x~tin tive., discussed at previous meetings of the Council, a delegation from that section appeared before the Council, urging that the work .be done at once. Tt appeared that a motion made at the October end meeting, regarding this, was not clear, whereupon, on motion of T. F.i~irt, seconded by I. R. Carper and unanimously passed, the Council authorized that the roadway be built, provided that the property owner on the west side of Pine Street deed to the Town a strip of 5 feet in width, in fee simple, with the right on the part of the town to grade such necess~y slope as is necessar~t for proper drainage and construction of the street through from Paca 5t. to First St. S. Hall BO~FiD ~;PPRO_ and unanimously passed, the Council authorized an appropriatl~on PRIt,T1UN of ~r80.OO toward upkeep and maintenance of the Pulaski Count Honor Rol Board, for the fiscal year September 1, 1945 ending august :~1, 1946. BOND Upon the request of S. E.~.vens, Co-chairman of the DONdTION victory loan drive, on motion of H. ts.. lmboden, seconded by T. F. tiYirt and unanimously passed, the Council authorized a contribution of ~i8.75 for a bond as one of the prizes to be' distributed at the Bond Premiere. FtESUi,UTZON On motion of H. Seagle,s$conded by G. G. Hall, and unanimously passed, the same was adopted as submitted. Said budget is given a.t the conclusion of these minutes. RETIRE- 0. P,. Jordan, Jr., chairman of the finance SENT F'"JND E~PLOYEi~a committee, presented letters regarding the establishment of a retirement fund for town employees, and on motion of T. F'. VMirt, seconded by F. t~. See:gle and unanimously passed, the Council authorized the employment of the State actuary to make a survey of payrolls covering all employees of the town and estimate the rate that would apply to the towns~~the clerk was authorized to furnish the necessary payroll information in this connection. This being the recommendation of the committee to which the matter was ref erred at the august 9th meeting of the Council.
