PRFSFNT There were present: Mayor E.V~~.Calf'ee, presiding; Lottie R. Runion, clerk; A. IP1.Gatewood, director of public works, and Councilmen: x.T. Eskridge, J. E. Bunts, T. L. James and A. M. Bushong. Absent: T. J.~allner, F. A. Seagle, G. C. Hall and L. E. PJhitesell. MINUTES The minutes of the regular meeting held on June 2nd, 1942 were read and approved. BILLS & The regular bills and payrolls for the month of June PAYROLLS were audited, approved and ordered paid. Said bills are given at the conclusion of these minutes. BUILDING The following building permits, coming within the PERMITS requirements of the ordinance were granted: To The Jefferson Mills for additions to mill on First Street and Lee Street, S.V:'., to cost X2,000.00; Theodore R.Williams for frame and concrete dwelling on the north side of Mt Olivet Road, Altoona Heights, to cost X500.00; Mrs. date Right for frame dwelling beyond 16th Street N. ~., to cost X500.00; Gomez Dalton for brick garage on the-north side of 10th Street, N. W. between Prospect and Randolph avenues, to cost ~~350.00; Russell B. Lewis for remodelling frame dwelling on the north side of 1Nater Street between Altoona and Randolph Avenues, to cost X100.00: TYLER The Tyler Drug Company submitted a letter stating DRUG CO REFUND that they had discontinued the sale of beer in their store on May 15th, 1942, and asking the Council for a refund of (paid on 4/~8/4~) this amount of their business licensenfor the year May 1, 1942 to April 30, 194. On motion duly made, seconded and unanimous- ly passed, the refund of X25.00, amount paid for said license, was authorized. PETITION In the matter of petition submitted at the April ROAD 7th meeting, by R. 1. Brown representing certain citizens V9EST CORP requesting the establishment of a road near the western corporate LIMITS limits of the town, Mr. A. P~'. Pula ski, Va. , July 1l~, 1942 and after discussion of the matter, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed said petition was laid on the table. i~UNICIPAL The abstract of the votes cast in the town election ELECTION for the ensuing term, effective September 1, 1942, and certified by the fudges of said election, was read. Upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously tiassed, the ab- stract was ordered filed as a part of the minutes of this session. The abstract follows: Abstract of votes cast in the town of Pulaski, Va., for Mayor, Treasurer, Clerk and Councilmen on June 9th, 194~i at the elction held in said town. For Mavor: For E. W.Calfee were cast one hundred and thirty-one(131) rotes. For Treasurer: For C.W. Bushong were cast one hundred and twenty-nine (129} votes. For Clerk of Council: For Lottie R. Runion were cast one hundred and thirty (1~0) votes. For Councilmen for First Vl~ard: For T. J. Wallner were cast seventeen (17) votes. For J. E. Bunts were cast seventeen(17) votes. For Councilmen far Second ~r'a.rd; For A. T. Eskridge were cast fif ty-two (52) votes. For L. E. Whitesell were cast forty-eight (48} votes. for Councilmen for Third Vdard: For G.C.
