There were present: Mayor E.W. Calfee, presiding; Lottie R. Bunion, Glerk; A. W. Ga.tewood, Director of Public Works, and Councilmen: A. T.Eskridge, 0. P. Jordan, L. E. W~Zitesell, J. E. Bunts, F. A.Seagle, T. L. James, A. M. Bushong and G.C. Ball. Absent: None. The minutes of the regular meeting held on September 3, 1942 were read and approved. The regular bills and pay~tls for the month of September were audited, approved and ordered bills. Said bills are given at the conclusion of these minutes. The following building permits, coming within the requirements of the o for an apartment over Avenue South, between X450.00; R. James and G.C. Hall for investigation and report. The application of J. W. Cox for one-story frame dwelling on the north side of Commerce Street, near, the Steel Plant site, to cost X500.04, was referred to F. A. Seagle and A.M. Bushong, Councilmen, for investigation and report.. The re~.uest for street light near the west end of STREET LIGHT Commerce Street, was referred to the Light Committee for recommendation and report. The Street Committee reported to the Council that PETITION 5th St. they had investigated the petition of property owners on Curb & Gutter 5th St. N. W., between Jefferson and Randolph Avenues, asking Denied for installation of curb and gutter on said street, and in view of federal regulations governing construction, and similar conditions existing in other parts of the town, it was their recommendation that the petition be denied for this time.
