Mall and A. ~+i. .Bushong. hbsent: bone. The minutes of the regular meeting held on November 4, 1943 were read and approved. The regular bills and payrolls for the month of November were audited, approved, and ordered paid. Said bills are given at the conclusion of these minutes. I~. C. Pierce submitted the police report for the manth of November, which vvds ordered filed. The following building permits, coming within the requirements of the ordinance, vrere granted, subject to governmental approval: To Odd Fe1:LOws Lodge #3026 for repairs and maintenance to lodge building on the east side of Randolph ~.ve., at I~+ater Street, to cost X450.00; to rA. ~.. Bushong for maintenance, repairs and addition to office building on the south side of 1~"first St. S. ~~. to cost ~y250.00. k petition for a street light, presented by residences of the j~orthvrest section of town, at the edge of the corporate line, was, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, referred to the light comr.littee for investigation and power to act. On motion of J. E. Bunts, seconded by F'. e. Beagle, and unani~~ousiy passed, the Council authorized an additional sum of X100.00 tov~ard the ~pense of the Honor Roll board recently erected on the Court~hbuse lawn. On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, P ~~HL HxRBOR EllTTION the Council authorized one-half space in the special Pearl X37.80 Harbor edition of the Southwest Times, to cost ~-37.80. Dobson, representing ShLUr~GE the OCD, appeared before the Council, stressing the im- OCD portance of salvaging paper in connection vrith the war effort, and the Council assured the committee that the down would fully cooperate in this matter. The Council considered the matter of a water supply ti tiT ER SUPPLY fro~i New giver. H. C. Jackson, superintendent of the Y~ater Department reported that after careful investigatipn, thtit he estimated the operating cost to be ~v1,955. 00 if available, per month for such supply,l It was the sense of the Cou~tcil that the operating cost, alone, was beyond the fi~.ancial ability of the town to carry at this time, and that no construction of any consequence could be undertaken until after the duration of the k'rar. iVir. Jackson stated that he did not consider l+`rarden Spring suitable for a permanent supply, but that investigations:.were being pursued as to the best source of available water supply.
