PRESENT There were present: Mayor li. `1, Eskridge, presiding; Lottie n. reunion, Clerk; i~. ~~. Gatewood, Lirector of Public u~orks, and Councilmen: L. E, VJhitesell, 0. P. Jordan, Jr., J. i~. iiarrison, J. F. Bunts, k~. x. 5e~gle, T. L. James, G. C, Hall and x. tk~. Fushong. absent: None. ~~-IutrT'Y~5 The minutes of the regular meeting held on December 7, 1943 were read and approved. BILLS & The regular bills and payrolls for the month of P r.YhU L.L, S December were audited, approved anti ordered paid. Said bills are given at the conclusion of these minutes. The following building periuits, coming within the BOILDING PL~~iTS requirements, were granted, subject to governmental approval: To yrs. liora Vuindle for repairs and maintenance to frarue dwelling on the south side of Peppers Ferry xoad, James Christ at 8th St. East Pulaski, to cost ~1~00.00; to ~~-i-s~~o- for repairs to the Pulski Cafe building, owned by the Lillian Russell Estate, on the Fast side of V~!ashington Ave., corner of ~`~ashington eve. anti First 5t. iJ., to cost ~w1750.00. ~~~ork to consist of enclosing front of building to street line with brick and glass, and repairs to interiors to Virgir~ia Maid Employees Nssoci~tion for addition of cinder block storage room to the ~uonticelo Club house on the west side of First 5t. Pulaski, to cost X85.00. 5~ PF;11irsI.~TY On motion duly made, secarlded and unanimously on 1943 saxes passed, the Council ordered that a penalty of 5~ be added on February 1, 1944, on all unpaid 1943 taxes. Bunts Interest on and unani~ilously passed, the Council fixed an interest charge Taxes of 6o to be added on all unpaid 194 taxes after June 30, 1544 - to conform with County and State regulations. Asst- On motion duly made, seconded and unani;rosuly passed, Treas. the Assistant Treasurer's bond we.s fixed at X5,000.00, and Eond the Clerk's and Chief of Police bonds were renewed at ~~,000.00 each.
