W. Calfee, presiding, Lottie R. Runion, clerk; i~. W. Gatewood, Director of Public Works, and Councilmen: A. T.Eskridge, T. J. ~'Vallner, L. E. rr'hitesell, J. E. Bunts and T. L. James. Absent: ~. bG. Bushong, F'. A. Seagle and G. C. Hall. BdINUTES The minutes of the regular meeting held on December 3, 1940 were read and approved. c'r ~~ BILLS & ~ detailed statement of the regular bills and payrolls ::^ PAYROLLS for the month of December was audited, approved and on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, ordered paid. Said bills are given at the conclusion cif these minutes. The following building permits, coming within the BUILDING PERMITS requirements of the ordinance, were granted: To. G. R. Steger for a 2-story brick dwelling on the east side of Prospect Avenue between 11th and 12th streets, ly. inl., to cost X7,000.00; Walter Norton f'or a one-story frame dwelling on the north side of Plant Street, back of Steel Plant, to cost X600.00. PETITION ti petition was presented by citizens and property OPEN owners, living on and in the vicinity of Lexington Avenue LEXINGTON and 2nd and 3rd streets, South, requesting the Council to AVE, for epen.~ Lexington avenue/a distance of approximately 50 feet, thereby connecting the above mentioned 2nd and 3rd streets. Calfee, FRED BOYD -~ APPOINTED- the Council, on motion duly made, seconded and unanimously PATROLMEN ' passed, appointed T. C. Painter and Fred Boyd as patrol- . men on the Police Force, effective as of January 15, 1941. Thsit respective salaries were fixed at X100.00 per month for the first twelve months. Acting, also, on the recommendation of the Mayor, G.EARL BOULDIN G. Earl Bouldin was promoted from patrolman to Day Sergeant PRO;u10TED DAY with an increase of $610.00 per month salary, effective as SERGEANT of January 15, 1941.
