PRESENT There were present ~+ayor E. Vti~. Calfee, presiding, Louie R. Runion, clerk, ti. dd. Gatewood, director of public works, a-tid Councilmen: A. T..Eskridge, T. J. `v`r~~llner , L. E. ~~hitesell, 'J. E. Bunts, F'. A. Beagle, T. L. James, G. C. Hall. Absent: A. M. Bushong. ~dINUTES The minutes of the regular meeting held on August 8„' 1941 were read and approved. RILLS & The reg~alur bills and payrolls fvr the month of August PhYnOLLB were audited, approved and ordered paid. Said bills are giver at the conclusion of these minutes. TOMr'N The town levy v~ras fixed for 1941, on motion duly made, LEVY seconded and passed by a recorded vote---: ryes: ti. T. Eskridge, T. J. VJallner, L. E. Vl'hitese~l, J . E . Bunts, F. i~. SeGgle, T.:' L. James, G. C. Hall. Noes--- None. The levy is as follows: BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of Pulaski Virginia, that a tax of x;1.60 be levied on each X100.00 assessed value on alI property, real and tangible personal, for the year 1941, for the general purposes of the Town, including the pay of its officers, the working and keeping in repair of` its streets, roads and bridges, and to pay the interest on its public debt, and to provide a sinking fund for the redemption;, of the same, and in addition thereto a poll tax of X1.00 is hereby levied on each male citizen of the Town over 21 years of age '~o be used in keeping its streets, roads and bridges in repair. P~;VING On motion duly made, seconded and unanimously 1~ th, 14th Passed, the Council authorized the paving of 13th, 14th and 15th 15th vrith curb and gutter Sts . streets, ~. W./at a n estimated cost of X9,800.00, and the . SE~uuER installation of the Sanitary saucer in said streets, at an estimated cost of x:4,500.00.
