HomeMy WebLinkAbout2008-05RESOLUTION 2008-05 HONORING DOROTHY ADAMS WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to recognize and honor citizens of the Town who, by their service to their family, friends and neighbors, have made significant contributions to the life of the entire Town; and, WHEREAS, Mrs. Dorothy Adams, a lifelong resident of the Town of Pulaski, is being honored by the congregation of the First Baptist Church for fifty years of service to the congregation as a musician; and, WHEREAS, in addition to her service to her friends and neighbors in the Magazine Street congregation, Mrs. Adams assisted churches throughout Montgomery County in establishing their musical outreach and programs to their congregations; and, WHEREAS, Mrs. Adams, as part of her commitment to the participation of young persons in music, started a young adult choir and also taught music to ministers who have gone on to serve other congregations throughout the area; and, WHEREAS, in addition to her ministry in music, Mrs. Adams is also known for her willingness to assist persons suffering from illness who need help or a watchful caretaker; • NOW THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in regular session this 18t" day of March 2008, that the Town Council does hereby extend its appreciation and recognition to Mrs. Dorothy Adams for her fifty years of service to the First Baptist Church and for her service to her family, her friends and her community. This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 18t" day of March 2008 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski as follows: Jeffrey S.
