• RESOLUTION 2008-09
HONORING VOLUNTEER CAPTAIN JAMES D. WHITE
FOR 44 YEARS OF SERIVCE TO THE PULASKI FIRE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to recognize and
honor those persons in the community who have freely given of their time and talents in
dedicated service to the Town and its citizens; and,
WHEREAS, Captain James D. White began his volunteer service with the Pulaski Fire
Department on December 10, 1963 rendering distinguished service for 44years, until his
retirement with the rank of Captain on January 1, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to his duties as a fire fighter, Captain White served as a Lieutenant in
the Department and also served as a Department Instructor and Senior Fire Officer
responsible for supervising and training many of the former and current fire fighters of the
Pulaski Fire Department; and,
WHEREAS, Captain White was directly involved in the mitigation of any significant
emergency event that could be named since 1963 that occurred in the Town of Pulaski or in
the Department's coverage area;
• NOW THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 15t" day of April 2008, that the Town Council does hereby
extend its sincerest thanks and appreciation to James D. White for his 44 years of service as
a volunteer firefighter, officer and instructor for the Town of Pulaski and for his dedication,
knowledge, skill, and commitment to the welfare of the Fire Department and the Town of
Pulaski and its citizens.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 15t" day of Apri1.2008 by
the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
