A RESOLUTION HONORING
DANIEL TALBERT, JR.
FOR HIS SERVICE ON TOWN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Daniel Talbert, Jr. has faithfully and honorably served the citizens of the Town of
Pulaski as a member of the Town Council from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Talbert, as a member of Council supported efforts to improve the quality of life
for the citizens of the Town such as; the Gatewood Park renovation; the establishment of
Heritage Park; the completion of the New River Trail, and the refurbishment of the Cool Springs
recreation field; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Talbert also supported efforts to sustain the continued economic development
of the Town by his support for the location of James Hardie in the Town and his support for
assisting and recruiting new businesses to the Town; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Talbert represented the Town of the Board of the New River Valley Planning
District Commission
WHEREAS, Mr. Talbert, was known and respected for his concern over the immediate and
long-term impacts of Council decisions upon the Town and for his insistence that Town funds be
• spent in the most efficient manner possible;
NOW, THEREFORE be It RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 1St day of July 2008, that the Town Council hereby recognizes the
contributions of and expresses its appreciation to Mr. Talbert for his dedicated service to the
citizens of the Town of Pulaski as a member of Town Council.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 1St day of July 2008 by the
..duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
David L. Clark -Aye Joel B. Burchett, Jr. -Aye
Larry G. Clevinger, II -Aye Robert A. Bopp -Aye
Morgan P. Welker -Aye
