RESOLUTION 2008-18
A RESOLUTION HONORING
LANE R. PENN
FOR HIS SERVICE ON TOWN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Lane R. Penn has faithfully and honorably served the citizens of the Town of Pulaski as a
member of the Town Council from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Penn, as a member of Council, encouraged the economic development of the Town
through his support for the locating of James Hardie in the community and the addition to new
businesses in the Town including both national and regional chains and small businesses; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Penn also worked to improve the quality of life for the citizens of the Town by his
support for the completion of the New River Trail, the creation of Heritage Park; the refurbishment of the
Cool Springs recreation field, and the establishment of the Rental Inspection Program; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Penn represented the Town on the Board of the Pepper's Ferry Regional Wastewater
Treatment Authority and the Greater Pulaski Alliance; and,
WHEREAS, during his tenure on Town Council, Mr. Penn was noted and respected for his concern for
.the fair and equitable treatment of citizens and staff alike in their dealings with the Town;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in
regular session this 1St day of July 2008, that the Town Council hereby recognizes the contributions of
and expresses its appreciation to Mr. Penn for his dedicated service to the citizens of the Town of
Pulaski as a member of Town Council.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 1St day of July 2008 by the duly
recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
