RESOLUTION 2008-19
A RESOLUTION HONORING
CHARLES L. WADE
FOR HIS SERVICE AS MAYOR
WHEREAS, Charles L. Wade has faithfully and honorably served the citizens of the Town of Pulaski
as Mayor of the Town from July 1, 2004 to June 30, 2008, during which service he initiated and
supported many initiatives to improve the life of the Town; and,
WHEREAS, as Mayor, Mr. Wade supported measures to improve the appearance of and enhance the
life of the community such as: the renovation of Gatewood recreation facilities, the creation of
Heritage Park, the completion of the New River Trail, the renovation of the Maple Shade Shopping
Plaza, the refurbishment of the Cool Springs recreation field, and the MacGill Skateboard Park; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Wade also supported measures to improve public safety and the efficiency of
operations within the Town by his support of such measures as the Rental Inspection Ordinance, the
Vacant Building registration, the enforcement of public nuisances and vacant structure demolition, and
preparation of the Town's first zero based budget; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Wade was also actively and personally involved in the efforts to locate James Hardie
Building Products to the Town of Pulaski as well as additional efforts to recruit and establish
• numerous small businesses within the community;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in
regular session this 1St day of July 2008, that the Town Council hereby recognizes the contributions of
and expresses its appreciation to Mr. Charles L. Wade for his dedicated service to the citizens of the
Town of Pulaski as Mayor.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 1St day of July 2008 by the duly
recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
