Minutes of the Special Meeting of the Pulaski Town Council held may 27, 1983, at
7:00 a.m. in the Council Chambers of the Municipal Building.
There were present: Mayor Raymond F. Ratcliffe, presiding
Councilmembers: John A. .Johnston, Pauline G. Mitchell, Earl D. Cabaniss,
C. E. Boyd, Jr., Andrew L. Graham, Jr., Ira S. Crawford,
Alma H.Holston, Glen K. Aust
Also present: H. R. Coake, Town Manager
WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING
We, the undersigned, duly elected members of the Council of the
Town of Pulaski, Virginia, hereby waive notice of a Special Meeting of
said Council at 7:00 a.m., on the 27th day of May, 1983, for the purpose
of Budget Work Sessions and
any other business that may legally come before the Countil

The invocation was given by Councilman Graham.
There were no comments from the public.
Councilman Graham made a motion that Council go into Executive Session for the
purpose of discussing personnel matters in accordance with Section 2.1-344 of tte
Code of Virginia, seconded by Councilperson Holston, and carried.
Councilmen Boyd and Crawford voted no to this motion.
At 7:05 a.m. Council went into Executive Session.
At 8:05 a.m. Council returned from Executive Session.

Council continued review of the proposed 1983-84 Budget.
Councilman Graham moved that the Public Hearing on the 1983-84 Budget be
scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on June 21, 1983. Motion was seconed by Councilman
Crawford and carried on the following recorded vote:
John A. Johnston - Aye
Pauline G. Mitchell - Aye
Earl D. Cabaniss - Aye
C. E. Boyd, Jr. - Aye
Andrew L. Graham, Jr. - Aye
Ira S. Crawford - Aye
Alma H. Holston - Aye
Glen K. Aus t - Aye
Councilman Johnston moved that a Council Meeting be scheduled on June 29,
1983, 4:00 p.m., for the purpose of adopting the 1983-84 budget. Motion was
seconded by Councilman Graham, and carried on the following recorded vote:
John A. Johnston - Aye Andrew L. Graham, Jr. - Aye
Pauline G. Mitchell - Aye Ira S. Crawf ord - Aye
Earl D. Cabaniss - Aye Alma H. Holston - Aye
C. E. Boyd, Jr. - Aye Glen K. Aust - Aye
At 8:30 a.m. Councilman Aust made a motion. to adjourn, seconded by Council-
person Holston, and carried.
