Minutes of a Special Council meeting of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, held July 31, 1981 at Twelve o'clock Noon in the Council
Chambers in the Municipal Building.
There were present: Mayor Raymond F. Ratcliff, presiding.
Councilmembers: James M. Neblett, Jr., John A. Johnston,
Robert M. Wallace, Andrew L, Graham, Jr.,
Alma H. Holston, Glen K. Aust,
Pauline G, Mitchell
Absent: C, E, Boyd, Jr., Councilman.
Also present: H. R. Coake, Town Manager
Gladys R, Dalton, Clerk
Roger A. Williams, Treasurer
Visitors: Dee Lindsey, Southwest Times
The invocation was given by Councilman Johnston.
WAIVER OF NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING

We, the undersigned, duly elected members of the Council of
the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, hereby waive notice of a Special Meeting of
said Council at 12:00 Noon on the 31st day of July, 1981, for the purpose
of approving the expenditure for purchase of equipment, said purchase having
been previously approved, and any other business that may legally come
before the Council.

Mayor Ratcliff advised that the special meeting had been
called to approve the expenditure for purchase of equipment, which
purchase had been previously approved by Council, and any other business
that may legally come before the Council.
Councilman Andrew L. Graham, Chairman of the Finance Committee,
reported that the Finance Committee met on July 30, 1981 to
consider the need for payment of the chassis which has been received
SPECIAL
MEETING TO f or the new fire truck. Mr. Graham advised there is $80,000.00 in
APPROVE
EXPENDITURE Revenue Sharing budget for 1981-82, and the amount of the bill for
OF $80,000.
FOR NEW FIRE the chassis is $17,752.02.
TRUCK
Councilman Graham moved that the expenditure of Account 401.2 -
Fire Department Truck - in the amount of $80,000.00 be approved for the
purchase of the new fire truck for the Fire Department. Motion was
seconded by Councilmember Holston, and carried on the following vote:
John A. Johnston - Aye Andrew L. Graham, Jr. - Aye
Pauline G. Mitchell - Aye Glen K. Aust - Aye
Robert M. Wallace - Aye Alma H. Holston - Aye
C. E. Boyd, Jr. - Absent James M. Neblett, Jr. - Aye
At 12:10 P. M. Councilman Neblett moved that Council adjourn.
ADJOURNMENT
Motion was seconded by Councilman Wallace, and carried.
