Minutes of a called meeting of the Pulaski Town Council,
held on the 23rd day of April., 1962, at 1:30 P. M., in the
Municipal Offic e.
There were present: Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding.
Councilmen: F. L. Carrico, ?^l. S. Cummings, T. J. McCarthy,.
_Claude B. Gallimore, Glen K. Aust
Absent: John tiai. Nash, Fugene L. Nuckols
Also present; Town Manager: T. B. Noland
Clerk: Gladys R. Dalton
Dir. of Public Works H. C. Jackson
Dir. of Recreation Ned B. Bane
The invocation was given by Councilman Flint.
Mayor Jackson stated the purpose of the meeting was to
discuss sewer and water projects that needed attention before the nP~t
regular meeting of Council, as had been stated in the notice; after
which, if agreeable to Council, hear a matter which Mr. Bane wished
to present to Council.
Councilman McCarthy reported that the Finance Committee and'
the Water Committee had met with Town Manager Noland and Director of.
Public Works H. C. Jackson also being present, to discuss whether the water
project to the Z~'indsor Circle area should be done by the Tom forces
or contracted. The contract price submitted by Davis & Armentrout off'
Pulaski in the sum of ~1L~,868.50 was considered, with Mr. Jackson and
P4r. Noland advising the committees that this figure was cheaper than::

Counc~.lman Gallimore moved that the recommendation of the
Water and the Finance Committee be accepted, which motion was
seconded by Councilman Flint, and carried unanimously.
Town Manager Noland advised that Foy Aust is negotiating witih
an out of town firm for construction of a bowling alley to be. located

to the site of the proposed bowling alley would cost approximately
$5,600.00. P.fter a discussion of this request, Councilman Flint moved
that the matter be turned over to the Sewer Committee for immediate
investigation. The motion was seconded by Councilman Cummings, and
carried.
Mr. Bane advised Council that he would like to add an
amateur baseball program for the coming summer season and for
which program an advance in the sum of $500.00 would be needed to

stated that `300,00 in advertising had been sold. to local
merchants. P~?r. Bane's request was discussed but no official action
was taken by Council.. It was requested by Council that the matter
be placed on the agenda for its next regular meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 2:30 F. M•
