Feb. 2, 1960, ~ p, ~;, owned by him and located on Valley Street, but that Prr, !^ihitaker had not requested a public hearing, or acknowledged the notice. After a discussion of t":ese matters, on motion of e~1, A. Larson, seconded by ~'. S, Cuml~ings, arxa carried on the follo~~ring recorded vote, it was T. J. DOUTHAT TO MAKE BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATION WITHIN 15 DAYS ~~~~. A. Larson - aye ~:~, ~, Cummings - aye J. R, "•''artin - absent ~. Guy r~hitaker explaining he has thirty (30) days ii: which to remove the two buildings on TJ;~lley Street; that if he does not comply with the notice, the Town will ta.kF steps to remove the structures, at his cost. The Town ?tanager was further directed to write T~":r. T. A. Douthat to file a formal building permit application within fifteen (1~) days for the repairs which he wished to make to his building .loca.ted on Commerce Street. Action was deferred in the case of Laura Hunter, Pattie Fuller and G. 3. r~`oore, pending outcome of statements made by them at the respective hearings. Town .Tanager T]o.-iand advised that deeds to t~:e land at Loving Field had been recorded in the County Clerk's Office. He further stated that he had been advised in a letter :from ?fir. ~:'illiam DEED TU LANDS T'°, 'r^~inebrenner, Station Chief at the Air .Traffic Communications AT LOVING FIELD RECORDED IN CO. Station in Bluefield, ~°Jest Virginia, that all facilities which were CLERK'S OFFICE at ~'ulaski at the time operations were transferred to Bluefield have been retained at Pulaski and are remotely controlled by Bluefield MEN AT LOVING and that the same service is available in the Pulaski area. with the NOT QUALIFIED TO CERTIFY WEATHER exception of weather observations; that there are presently two EXCEPT IN GREAT EMERGENCY men stationed at Loving Field but that these men are not aualified to give weather conditions except in great emergencies. Town manager P4oland said he would try to ascertain if these men could be certified to gi.vc ?weather informat_en which would be helpful to planes landing at nearby AJew River Valley Airport. 1 1 316 Council rains. contd. Carrico -aye F. ti~rhite -absent ~,dI?'LR.EAS, the Town o,`' Pulaski, Virginia, a ?"unicipal Corporation, together LJith the Gommonwea.lth of "lirgini.a and the Federal Government, proposes to build that certain highway .designated as Route ,~99 from the corporate limits of the said Town to a point near Padison Avenue in the Town, under Federal Aid Urban Project No. 0099-12~-070; arr?, '~di~"~.RF:i-~S, tinder the 1~s,~T and re7ulations controlling said project the i-'unicipality is req_u~~~e-.d to acquire either by purchase or condemnation till of the necessary .land for right of RESOLUTION ADOPTED ways and easements lying within the said Municipality; and, FOR CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS RE: ~~~I-~'REAS, pertaining to the aforesaid project, Route 99 PROJECT the Tawn of Pulaski, Virginia, has caused to be made by ti^1. ?~arvin Board and E. '. 'whitman, two competent appraisers, an appraisal of the land and an evaluation of the damages for all o? the parcels deemed necessary for said project and sho~~rn upon the plans provided; and, tiJF~RE;AS, the said ToUm employed F. C. Tot•?n Y~ana~er ioland ~=dvised that the concrete work CONCRETE WORK at the Gatetrood Reservoir had. been completed February 1, .1960, the AT GATEWOOD RESERVOIR COM- total volume cf concrete being 1,301 cubic yards, the first concrete PLETED FEB. 1'60 having been poured or. April 7, 1959, and with the exception of incide:~ta1 FIRST POURED APR. 7, 1959 work the dam was completed.
