Minutes of the regular meeting of the Pulaski Town Council held on the .lst day of March, 1960, at ~ p. m., in the municipal office. There were present: Mayor C. V. Jackson, presiding. Councilmen: W. S. Cummings, J. R. Martin, J. W. Nash, G1 en K. Aust, W. A. Larson Absent: W. F. White, F. L. Carrico, T. J. McCarthy Also present: Town Manager: T. B. Noland Clerk: Gladys R. Dalton Town Attorney: Alan Groseclose Visitors: Bi11 Akers, reporter for Southwest Times The meeting was opened with prayer by Town Manager Noland, Minutes of the regular meeting of February 16, 1960, were approved. Two communications which were directed to Mayor C. V. Jackson were read by Town Manager Noland. No action was necessary. Town Manager Noland reported that in response to his inauiry with regards to the policy of other cities and towns where VA. LEAGUE OF MQNC. TO BE Property owners have private water supplies and wish to secure ASLED TO MAKE SURVEY ON sewer connections to the town's sewer system, the League of POLICY OF OTHER CITIES WHERE Virginia Municipalities advised that because of the unusual PRIVATE WATER OWNERS WISH circumstances they had no such information in their files. SEWER CONNECTIONS However, the League would be glad to make a survey for the Town. Council directed the Manager to request the League for a survey of this matter. Council confirmed Mayor Jackson's re-appointment of Ode11 MAYBERRY RE- APPOINTED TO H. Mayberry to the Pulaski Town Planning Commission for a four year PLANNING COMM. FOR !t YR5. term, to end February 20, 196 . A special committee, composed of W. A. Larson, W. F. White, SPEC. COMMITTEE NAMED TO LEASET. J. McCarthy and Glen K. Aust was named to work with the Town LOVING FIELD LANDS Manager and Town Mayor in leasing a portion of Loving Field farm lands. He stated construction of the administration building and hangar should start within forty-five days. After a discussion of the new Armory dedication ceremonies, of motion of W. S. Cummings, seconded by W. A. Town Manager Noland advised that bids had been advertised for the sale of eight (8) buildings located in the proposed route of Stalte BIDS ADV. FOR SALE OF Route 99, and that such bids would be opened March 28th. 8 BLDGS. RT. 99 On motion of W. A. Larson, seconded by Glen K. Aust, and carried unanimously, it ~sas RESOLVED, at the request of J. W. Nash, the matter of his recent request that the Town sell a portion of its land near the General Chemical Company to the Virginia Block Company, REQUEST OF be placed on the agenda for discussion at this time. After a brief VA. BLOCK TO PURCHASE discussion, on motion of J. R. Martin, seconded by W. A. Larson; and LANDS PLACED ON AGENDA & carried unanimously, it was LATER REF. TO COMMITTEE RESOLVED, that the request of Virginia Block Company be referred to a committee composed of W. S. Cummings, W. A. Larson and J. R.
