HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-30-47~_~I t~ SPECIAL SESSION PRESENT A~ZINiTTES HORSE SNOW Council Minutes Pulaski, Va., Aoril 30, 1947 The Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia met in special session in the Council Chamber of the Municipal building at 9; 00 • o - clock A. 14'I., April 30, 1947. There were present; Mayor A.T.Eskridge, presiding; Lottie R. Runion, Clerk; A. W.Gatewood, Director of Public Works,• and Councilmen; T. F'. Wirt, C. V. Jackson, trd. F. ~Nhite, Howard R. Imboden and W. D. Aust ~d r. C. Hall. Absent; F. A. Seagle and I. R. Carper. The reading of the .minutes of the regular ser!mi- monthly meeting held on April 22nd, was deferred. The Mayor stated that the meeting had been called to consider the contract between the Town of Pulaski and the Pulaski Horse Show Association, Ins. Howard C . Gilmer, Jr., Attorney, appeared before the Council with members of the Horse Show Association, stating that they were not willing to enter into the contract submitted to them bzr the tovrn, without certain changes being made, requesting that certain priviledges be extended them in addition to those covered in the contract submitted , as follows; 1. That they be permitted to use that portion of the park not included in the baseball infield for exercising their horses. 2. That they not be required to remove their property ~rrf~~rnr~ ~~e park enclosure until 7; OO P. P,~I. August 4th. 3. That a committee of two members from the horse show association, meeting with two members of the Council, in case of rain, should determine whether or not they be allowed to park cars within. the park enclosure. 4. Also, that in case of one of the shows being rained out on Friday or Saturday, that they be allowed to show on Sunday instead. On motion of W. F. White, seconded by W. D.
