Council Minutes Pulaski, Va., September 16, 1947
The Council df the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
met in regular semi-monthly session in the Council Chamber
of the Municipal building at 7;30 P.M ., September 16, 1947.
There were present; Mayor A. T. Eskridge, pre-
siding; Verna L. Dalton, clerk; L. S. Boothe, Chief of
Police; Mrs. Lottie R. Bunion, treasurer; A. W. Gatewood,
director of public works, and Councilmen; C. V. Jackson,
Howard R. Imboden, G. C. Hall, I. R. Carper, F. A. Seagle,
and W. F. White. Absent: Tyler F. Wirt and W. D. Aust.
The matter of the building application of
Arnold L. Quesenberry for one story dwelling of two rooms
on west side of Pine Street, S.W., corner of Martin Avenue
and Pine Street to cost X600.00 which was brought before
the Council on September 5, 1 947 and referred to the council-
men of the fourth ward for investigation, on recommendation
of said councilmen, bn motion of T. R. Carper, seconded by
F. A. Seagle, was unanimously approved.
The petition for three lights on Jackson Avenue
presented to Council at its last meeting and referred to
the light committee for investigation and report was granted
on motion of F. A. Seagle, seconded by G. C. Hall and
unanimously approved.
The director of public works submitted a request
of 0. C. Davidson, corner of~Fifth Street and Prospect
Avenue to have the space for one~car marked off in front
of his residence, and on motion of H. R. Imboden, seconded
by W. F. White, and unanimously approved, was granted until
such time that space for parking is provided by the R.C.A.
Plant f'or employee parking facilities.
The request of Mrs. Margaret Brewed was submitted
by the director of public works asking that she be given
permission to~cut down five elm trees on the east side of
Madison Avenue alongside their property, due to the falling
leave nuisance. On motion of W. F. White, seconded by
H. R. Imboden, and unanimously passed, the matter was

referred to the property committee for investigation to
report back.

REMOVAL the matter of a dead tree needing removal in the yard of

Lawrence Russell on Prospect Avenue at the N. E. intersection,
beyond twelfth street and Prospect. Councilman I. R. Carpe

suggested contacting the Appalachian Electric Power Companyj,

stating that same would remove tree if reminded that it

endangered their power lines. No action was taken on the
matter. t
