RESOLUTION 2009-25
A RESOLUTION HO TO TIHE PULASKI FIRE DEPAROMENT EARS OF SERVICE
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to recognize and honor
those persons in the community who have freely given of their time and talents in dedicated
service to the Town and its citizens; and,
WHEREAS, Jesse E. Worrell began his volunteer service with the Pulaski Fire Department on
February 11, 1971 rendering faithful and distinguished service as a firefighter for 38 years until
his retirement on November 6, 2009; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his duties, Firefighter Worrell compiled over 800 hours of training in
his career with the Pulaski Fire Department, earning his certification as a firefighter through the
Virginia Department of Fire Programs; and
WHEREAS, during his career Firefighter Worrell responded to over 600 incidents and despite a
lingering illness in later years, continued to serve the department on the support crew, assisting
with dispatching and logistical support during incidents until his retirement; and
WHEREAS, Firefighter Jesse E. Worrell passed away on November 18, 2009 at the age of 78;
• NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 15th day of December 2009, that the Town Council does hereby
recognize and commend the thirty-eight years of faithful service of Firefighter Jesse E. Worrell
as a member of the Pulaski Fire Department;
BE it FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Council does extend to the Worrell Family their
sincerest condolences and thanks for their support of Firefighter Worrell in his service to our
community.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 15th day of December 2009
by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
