RESOLUTION 2010-06
HONORING
THOMAS G. POWERS
FOR HIS THIRTY-FOUR YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE TOWN OF PULASKI
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to publicly recognize and
commend citizens of the town who have given of themselves in service to their community; and,
WHEREAS, Thomas G. Powers was appointed to the Housing Board of Adjustment and Appeals
on July 16, 1976, further serving as chairman of that Board from July 13, 1979; until resigning April
13, 2001, to take up his appointment to the Board of Zoning Appeals; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Powers then served as a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals from March 27,
2001 until his retirement from the Board on January 6, 2010, completing a total of thirty-four years
of service to the Town of Pulaski; and,
WHEREAS, in the discharge of his duties, Mr. Powers was held in high esteem by his colleagues
because of his faithful discharge of his responsibilities; his courteous and fair treatment of citizens,
staff and fellow board members; his expertise regarding building construction; and his extensive
knowledge of the Town and its citizens;
NOW THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED that the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia,
sitting in regular session this 2"d day of March 2010, does hereby extend the sincerest thanks and
appreciation, on behalf of the citizens, Town Council and Town staff, to Thomas G. Powers for his
thirty-four years of dedicated, faithful service to the-Town of Pulaski as a member of the Housing
Board of Adjustment & Appeals and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 2"d day of March 2010 by the
duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
