HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-16RESOLUTION 2010-16 A RESOLUTION HONORING LARRY G. CLEVINGER, II FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE TOWN OF PULASKI WHEREAS, Larry G. Clevinger, II has faithfully and honorably served the citizens of the Town of Pulaski as a member of the Town Council from July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2010; and WHEREAS, in addition to his duties as a councilman, Mr. Clevinger represented the Town on the board of the Greater Pulaski Alliance and further served as the government representative for the Town of Pulaski on the Board of Commissioners of the New River Valley Planning District Commission; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Clevinger, noted for his expertise on antiques and local historical artifacts, served as chairman of the Museum Collection Committee and supervised committee efforts regarding the administration of articles salvaged from the museum fire of 2008, including writing and evaluating requests for proposals from prospective vendors and contractors; assisting with evaluating the condition of remaining exhibits; writing and developing a collections policy and general policies for future museum operations; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Clevinger, as a member of the Pulaski County Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee, applied his extensive knowledge of local history and events in planning for the 150t" Anniversary observance of the American Civil War; NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in regular session this 6th day of July 2010, that the Town Council hereby recognizes the contributions of and expresses its appreciation to Mr. Clevinger for his dedicated service to the citizens of the Town of Pulaski as a member of Town Council. This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 6th day of July 2010 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows: David L.
