RESOLUTION 2012-07
A RESOLUTION HONORING
KATHLEEN KIRK
FOR HER SERVICE TO THE TOWN OF PULASKI
WHEREAS, the Town Council and citizens of the Town of Pulaski desire to recognize and
commend those citizens who have given of their time and talents in service to the Town; and
WHEREAS, Kathleen Kirk was appointed to the Town of Pulaski Planning Commission on
January 21, 1992 serving as a member, vice-chairperson, and chairperson until her retirement
from the commission on February 4, 2012 for a total of twenty years' service to the town; and,
WHEREAS, during her service on the Planning Commission, Mrs. Kirk served a total of seven
years as vice-chairperson (1998-2000; 2008-2012) and seven years as Chairperson (2000-
2007) and also served as the Planning Commission's representative on the Board of Zoning
Appeals, serving on that board from May 17, 1994 to November 7, 2000 for a term of six and
one-half years ;and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Kirk as a Planning Commissioner and Board member, was noted and
respected by her colleagues for her extensive knowledge and expertise in zoning and planning,
and her fair, courteous and professional manner to the Town's citizens to insure that the their
concerns received the highest level of consideration and attention as they were submitted to her
for review:
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 2nd day of May 2012 that the Town Council extends its deepest
gratitude and thanks to Mrs. Kathleen Kirk for her twenty years of service to the Town of Pulaski
as a member of the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 2nd day of May 2012 by
the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
