RESOLUTION 2012-14
A RESOLUTION HONORING MORGAN P. WELKER
FOR HIS SERVICE ON TOWN COUNCIL
WHEREAS, Morgan P. Welker has faithfully and honorably served the citizens of the Town
of Pulaski as a member of the Town Council from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2012;
and,
WHEREAS, in addition to his duties as a member of Council. Mr. Welker represented the
Town on several regional boards and commissions including: the New River Planning
Commission District Board; the Virginia's First Regional Industrial Development Authority
Board; and the Board of the Greater Pulaski Alliance; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Welker also served as the Town's representative for emergency and
redevelopment projects as a member of the Tornado Recovery Management Team and
the Dora Highway Community Development Block Grant Management Team; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Welker was known and respected for his concern that town funds be used
as efficiently and as effectively as possible and for his participation in and advocacy of
programs and policies to assist in the redevelopment of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session this 10th day of July 2012, that the Town Council hereby
recognizes the contributions of and expresses its appreciation to Mr. Welker for his
dedicated service to the citizens of the Town of Pulaski as a member of Town Council.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 10th day of July 2012
by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
