HomeMy WebLinkAbout2012-23RESOLUTION 2012-23 A RESOLUTION OF THANKS AND APPRECIATION TO THE BRETHREN DISASTER MINISTRIES WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to recognize those groups and persons who have been of exceptional assistance to the Town and its citizens in the aftermath of the Tornado of April 8, 2011; and, WHEREAS, the Brethren Disaster Ministries was one of the first groups of volunteers to respond to the disaster, assisting citizens with making emergency repairs to the many homes damaged by the storm; and, WHEREAS, following the initial efforts of the recovery, the Brethren Disaster Ministries continued its assistance to the Town of Pulaski, completing an eighteen month term of service which resulted in the construction of ten new residences and substantial repairs to between fifteen and twenty more; and, WHEREAS, the ministries' assistance embodies the highest principles of the Community of Faith in serving one's fellowman in their time of greatest need; NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in regular session this 20~h day of November 2012, that the Town Council does extend the heartfelt thanks and appreciation of the Council and the citizens of the Town of Pulaski to the Brethren Disaster Ministries for their dedicated and tireless efforts in rebuilding the homes of our citizens and for demonstrating the highest principles of service to their fellowman. This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 20~" day of November 2012 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows: Heather L.
