A Resolution Authorizing the Town Manager and Finance Director
To Write-Off Outstanding Utility Accounts Older Than
Five Years on an Annual Basis
WHEREAS, the Code of Virginia mandates that outstanding utility accounts older than
five years are uncollectable; and,
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires that the process for writing off outstanding utility
accounts that are older than five years be conducted on an annual basis through
administrative action;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session this 4th day of November 2014, that the Town Manager
and Finance Director shall on an annual basis write off those outstanding utility
accounts that are older than five years;
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Council shall be kept informed when this
procedure shall take place and the amount of outstanding accounts to be written off.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 4th day of
November 2014 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia as follows:
