Resolution Authorizing the Write-Off of Uncollectable Utility Accounts
in the Amount of $141,347.01
WHEREAS, the installation of a new software program for the Finance Department will
require a purging from the Town's system of outstanding utility accounts which are more
than five years old; and,
WHEREAS, according to the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, outstanding utility
accounts more than five years old are deemed uncollectable; and,
WHEREAS, the auditor for tJ~e Town has recommended to the staff that these outstanding
accounts from 2009 and prior years, as listed in Attachment A-Resolution 2014-38, totaling
$141,347.01, be written off and cleared out of the Town's data system;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session this 4th day of November 2014,that all outstanding utility
accounts from 2009 and prior years, totaling $141,347.01 as listed in Attachment A-
Resolution 2014-38 shall be written off and removed from the Town's data system.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 4th day of November
2014 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as
follows:
