A Resolution Setting Forth the Scope of and Authorization of Design Work
for Improvements to Route 99
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia has deemed it desirable and
necessary to effect certain improvements to the Route 99 entrance corridor to the Town; and,
WHEREAS, the Town Council has further determined that the upgrading and improvement of
the Route 99 corridor into the Town of Pulaski from Interstate 81 will prove beneficial to the
Town's economy;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 21St day of October 2014, that the scope of the Route 99
improvements shall include the following items:
• Signal replacement at the Route 611 (Bob White Blvd.) and Rt. 99 intersection.
• New River Trail State Park recreation information signs along I-81 and Rt. 99.
• Guardrail replacement from along Route 99 from Bob White Blvd. to I-81.
• Paved shoulders (minimum of four (4) feet wide) from Bob White Blvd. to Dora
Highway.
• Landscaping the median at I-81, at the town limits and street trees along Route 99
from Bob White Blvd. to I-81.
• Street lights along Route 99 from Bob White Blvd. to the Interstate 81 interchange.
FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Council authorizes the Virginia Department of
Transportation to proceed with the design and production of required documentation for the
aforementioned improvements.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 21St day of October 2014
by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
