A Resolution of Appreciation and Thanks to Heather L. Steele
For Her Service on Town Council
WHEREAS, Heather L. Steele has faithfully and honorably served the citizens of the Town
of Pulaski, Virginia as a member of the Town Council from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2016;
and,
WHEREAS, as a member of Town Council, Ms. Steele supported initiatives to revitalize
the Town's economy including: the redevelopment of Calfee Park, the development of the
Jackson Park Inn site, and the proposed future use and development of the Dalton
Building, all of which resulted in approximately $7 million in private investment in the Town;
and,
WHEREAS, Ms. Steele also supported funding for capital projects necessary for improving
the quality of Town services including: the Filter Plant upgrade; the completion of lift station
upgrades for the Peppers Ferry Wastewater Treatment Authority; and the purchase of new
equipment and vehicles needed by Town departments for service provision to the citizens;
WHREAS, in addition to her advocacy for enhancing the Town's economy and ability to
provide better services to the citizens, Ms. Steele also supported Council's efforts to
provide improved benefits for Town employees;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sifting in regular session this 5th day of July 2016 that the Town Council hereby
recognizes the contributions of and expresses its appreciation to Ms. Heather Steele for
her dedicated service to the citizens of the Town of Pulaski as a member of Town Council.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 5th day of July 2016
by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
