A Resolution of Appreciation to the Friends of Peak Creek
for Their Serviceto the Town of Pulaski
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to recognize those groups
who endeavor to promote both civic pride and service to the community; and,
WHEREAS, the Friends of Peak Creek, the newest and most active civic group in the Town of
Pulaski, have established themselves as a willing and dynamic participant in the various aspects of
the life of the Town as it relates to the well-being and enhancement of the creek for the benefit and
enjoyment of the community; and,
WHEREAS, among the many initiatives and projects to improve and protect the creek, the Friends
of Peak Creek have contributed both labor and funds to several special projects including: decking
the Iron Bridge with a pedestrian walkway for the public's enjoyment and convenience; promoting
the overall health of the creek by labeling street and storm drains to remind citizens of the perils of
pollution to the creek; working to restore the streambank through Kiwanis Park to improve the flow
of the stream through the park and into the creek; improving the appearance of the town through
participating in trash pickup several times a year; supporting and assisting with the removal of
vegetation from the creek wall and sponsoring a successful application for the Dora Trail's
designation as a national birding trail;
NOW THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in
regular session this 4th day of April 2017, that the Town does hereby recognize and commend the
Friends of Peak Creek for their efforts to improve the life of the community through preserving and
revitalizing the unique asset that is Peak Creek.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 4th day of April 2017 by the duly
recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
