the Municipal Building at 42 First Street, NW.

At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Glenn called the meeting to order. He announced that this meeting was being held for a
Public Hearing regarding the FY 2017-18 budget. He explained that Council would take comments from the
public, but no responses would be made.
Mr. Utt reviewed the budget and goals for Council.
Mayor Glenn opened the Hearing at 6:15 p.m.
Terry McPeak addressed Council asking why the police vehicles are driven home and opined that the wear
and tear on the vehicles and gas for those vehicles would be more than if the vehicles were left at the office.
He asked whether everyone gets a car to drive to and from work when they work for the Town. He referred to
past discussions regarding a Route 99 project that would decrease automobile lanes and add bike lanes
advising that he felt the citizens should be allowed to give their input regarding potential projects. He
commented that the only major industry to come to Pulaski was James Hardie. He added that we have lost big
industry, but not acquired new. He asked if "we want a retirement community here". He continued that "if we
keep on, that is what it will be".
Mayor Glenn thanked Mr. McPeak for his comments.
John Jones addressed Council advising that he was really disturbed that we have a Director of Parks and
Facilities, a Park Manager and an Assistant Park Manager. He continued that he was trying to figure out who
does the mowing. He felt the department was top heavy. He added that the Assistant Park Manager was
making more money than 5 of the police officers. He asked what the Town does with the old police cars. He
advised that he had heard something about building a bicycle lane from where the road splits going out toward
Hardees. He continued that we already have a drag strip through there. He felt a bicycle lane would cause a
lot of injuries and problems. He continued that he would love to see the police department run radar in the
area. He suggested that a police bicycle be left at the bike shop at the Train Station and when a police officer
had time, they could ride the Trail.

There being no further speakers, Mayor Glenn closed the Hearing.
Councilman East moved to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Kidd seconded the meeting and carried on voice
vote.
