A Resolution of Appreciation and Thanks to H.M. Kidd
For His Service on Town Council
WHEREAS, H.M. Kidd has faithfully and honorably served the citizens of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia as a member of the Town Council from August 5, 2008 to June 30, 2018, and,
WHEREAS, as a member of Town Council, Mr. Kidd supported: the privatization and
redevelopment of Calfee Park; the Town's efforts to obtain grant funding for Downtown renovation;
the studies and applications for grant funding for major utility projects such as the Brookmont
project, the James Hardie preliminary engineering study and the Filter Plant upgrades, and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Kidd also supported various measures and proposals necessary for improving the
quality of the Town's operations including: creating reserve funds for major repairs and purchases;
rebuilding of the Town's undesignated fund balance; and purchasing much needed replacement
vehicles and equipment for Town departments; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to his advocacy for enhancing the Town's economy and ability to provide
better services to the citizens, Mr. Kidd also supported Town Council's efforts to provide improved
salaries and benefits for Town employees and retirees; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Kidd was known for his sense of humor which was most appreciated when difficult
issues were considered,
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting
in regular session this 24th day of July 2018 that the Town Council hereby recognizes the
contributions of and expresses its appreciation to Mr. H.M. Kidd for his dedicated service as a
member of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 24th day of July 2018 by the
duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
