Resolution of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
Concerning Compensation of Board Members of the
Pepper's Ferry Regional Wastewater Treatment Authority
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulas::i, Virginia (the "Town") is a member jurisdiction of the
Pepper's Ferry Regional Wastewater Treatment Authority (the "Authority"), and appoints
representatives and alternates to the board of directors of the Authority (the "Authority
Board") pursuant to the Virginia Water and Waste Authorities Act, Va. Code § 15.2-100
et seq. (the "Act"); and,
WHEREAS, the Authority is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the
Authority's wastewater treatment facility in a fiscally responsible manner, while safely
processing in excess of 1.7 billion gallons of wastewater on an annual basis,
safeguarding the natural environment and beauty of the region, as well as the health,
safety and welfare of citizens of and visitors to the region; and,
WHEREAS, the Act requires the Authority to reimburse expenses of members of the
Authority Board, and further the Act provides that such Authority Board members should
receive compensation for the services performed on behalf of the Authority, in the
amounts as fixed from time to time by the governing bodies of the member jurisdictions
of the Authority; and,
WHEREAS, the Authority currently provided for reasonable compensation to Authority
Board members commensurate with the services rendered to the Authority by such
board members, and the significant commitment of time and effort dedicated by them;
and,
WHEREAS, the Authority has proposed a policy whereby future compensation
adjustments for Authority Board members, from year to year, shall be identical to any
cost of living adjustments provided by the Authority Board to Authority employees
generally.
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia sitting in regular session this 4th day of June 2019 that:
1. The Town hereby concurs with the rates of compensation previously provided for
by the Authority for such board members, and the same is hereby ratified and
confirmed.
2. The Town hereby concurs with the proposed policy of the Authority Board
whereby adjustments to board member compensation shall be identical to any
future cost of living adjustments provided by such board to Authority employees
CERTIFICATION OF ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION
The undersigned Clerk of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
hereby certifies that the Resolution set forth above was adopted during an open
meeting on June 4, 2019, by the Town Council with the following votes:

member jurisdictions of the Authority.
3. This resolution shall take effect immediately
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 4th day of June
2019 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, as
follows:
