HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-21Resolution 2020-21 Resolution Accepting the Terms and Conditions of'a FEMA Grant for Emergency Generators for the Town's Water Supply WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski Virginia has previously applied for grant funding to equip the water system with emergency generators to ensure continuity of utility service to Town citizens during an emergency; and, WHEREAS, the Town was notified by the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM) that the application for grant funds for emergency generators for the Town's water supply had been approved by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); and, WHEREAS, the project is intended to provide emergency generation capability to three booster stations which will be able to maintain water service to approximately 80% of the Town's water customers in an emergency; and, WHEREAS, the project cost of $103,530 shall be apportioned such that $98,600 will be from state and federal funds and $4,930 shall be the responsibility of the Town; NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session -this 4th day of August 2020, that the Town does hereby accept the funding proffered by both FEMA and VDEM on the terms and conditions set forth in the grant agreement for the project designated as FEMA -DR -4401 -VA -005 and agrees to provide the Town's matching portion of the funds totaling $4,930; and, FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town Manager is hereby authorized to execute the grant agreement and other documentation that may be required by the granting agencies in the course of the project. This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 4th day of August 2020 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows: Lane R.
