Chambers at 5:55 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020.
Mayor: Shannon Collins, presiding
Councilmen Present Brooks R. Dawson; Greg East
Lane R. Penn; Michael Reis
Staff: Jordan Whitt, Social Media Manager/Acting Clerk
Mayor Collins called the Council to order at 5:55 p.m.
Roll was then called with Mr. Dawson, Mr. East, Mr. Penn and Mr. Reis present. Absent were
Mr. Clontz and Mr. Radcliffe
Mr. Reis moved to reconvene following the recess entered into on September 22, 2020. The
motion was seconded by Mr. Dawson and approved by Mr. Dawson, Mr. East, Mr. Penn, and
Mr. Reis.
Mr. Reis then moved to enter Closed Session under Va. Code 2.2-3711 (a) (1) to discuss
prospective candidates for employment. The motion was seconded by Mr. Dawson and
approved by Mr. Dawson, Mr. East, Mr. Penn and Mr. Reis.
Council then entered Closed Session at 5:58 p.m. and returned from Closed Session at 7:12
p.m.
Mr. East moved to certify the Closed Session that Council discussed only those matters for
which it went into the Closed Session. The motion was seconded by Mr. Reis and approved by
an affirmative vote of Mr. Dawson, Mr. East, Mr. Penn and Mr. Reis.
Mr. Reis then moved to recess the meeting until Monday, September 28, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. Mr.
Penn seconded the motion which was approved by Mr. Dawson, Mr. East, Mr. Penn and Mr.
Reis.
The meeting was recessed at 7:12 p.m.
