Resolution Adopting the 2020 Commercial Historic District Guidelines
WHEREAS, the Town of Pulaski seeks to maintain the historic character and features of the
Commercial Historic District; and,
WHEREAS, in July 2019, the Town of Pulaski was awarded a Historic Preservation Sub -grant
from the Virginia Department of Historic Resources and the National Park Service to update the
Design Guidelines for the Commercial Historic District; and,
WHEREAS, following extensive work by the Architectural Review Board, the Steering
Committee, and Town Staff in concert with Johnson, Mirmiran and Thompson, Inc. consultants,
a Design Guidelines update was produced for review and adoption; and,
WHEREAS, the Architectural Review Board held a public hearing at its meeting on February 18,
2021 regarding proposed revisions to the Commercial Historic District Design Guidelines, after
which the Board voted unanimously to recommend to Town Council that the newly drafted
guidelines be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, sitting in
regular session this 16th day of March 2021, that the 2020 Commercial Historic District Design
Guidelines are hereby adopted.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 16th day of March 2020, by
the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
