021 Resolution Honoring tie Ufe'of PaulineMitchell _
WHEREAS, the Town Council,desires to.recognize and commendlhe life and work of those.citizens in.the
community who have given. of their time,, talent and effort in renderi'hg service to --'the Town of Pulaski as'a
citizen and member of Town••Council, and;
WHEREAS, Pauline -G. "Polly!', a ;native'of Pulaski, was active.inthe community"asfa citizen and;. -
Council` member; who: faithfully.supported° her h'orne town throughout her life, antl; ,
WHEREAS, Mrs .`.Mitchell was one of the first womenelected to serve on'Town Council, serving three terms
during which she;also was'al member. OT -various Council°cominittees.as-either a member or the -chairperson;
and served as theTown's representatiVeto the Agencyon Aging antl the Clean Community Council, and•'
WHEREAS, Mrs Mitchell, best known -for her love of local history -and animals, was,.active iri the New River,
Valley Hrstoncal Society and was a charter member of the Rulaski County'Humane Society along with
i participating hin various comrriunity_events such as Count Pulaski Day; PulaskiFest, and the, New River Valley .
Fair;,and
WHEREAS, no,matter what job she did or position she'held'within tler;comrnunity; Mrs: Mitchell re "Mai
passionate advocate for the Town of Pulaski and its citizens; and
WHEREAS, afterxa long and.busy-life of giving to her beloved home town, Mrs Mitchell passed -away on
November 29,'2020 at the age of ninety five and a half;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia,sitting in.
