HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-57Ak Resolution 2021-57 Resolution Concerning Amendments to the Town Personnel Manual WHEREAS, Town Council has the responsibility to adopt and regularly update a personnel manual for use by the administration; and, WHEREAS, the service award (Section 3.J) and holiday leave sections (Section 6.E) need updating; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia, sitting in regular session this 21St day of December 2021, that the Town of Pulaski hereby adopts the awards and holiday leave provisions,, attached, changes to the section. ,— This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 21St day of December 2021 by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski as follows: Lane R. LEAVE: E: Holiday Pay Holiday Work Holiday Work: Employees that are required to work on a holiday, or the holiday is on a scheduled day off, will be entitled to an equal number of hours of holiday leave for their scheduled shift on the observed holiday. For public safety positions the hours will be preloaded on January 1 of each year and unused hours will be forfeited on December 31 of the same year. For non-public safety positions, the holiday leave must be paid or used within the year in which the holiday was earned. Employees must have holiday leave approved in advance. Proposed Change: SECTION 3. EMPLOYMENT PROCESS: J: Service Awards: Awards Awards: Awards will be presented on a date established by the Town Council. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for monitoring and making plans for the presentation. The length of service will be established based on the employee's full-time anniversary date, as of January 1 of each year. Awards are distributed based on a schedule of five-year increments, beginning with year 5,10,15, 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40. ti Current: SECTION 6. LEAVE: E: Holiday Pay Holiday Work Holiday Work: Employees that are required to work on a scheduled holiday, or that work irregular schedules and the holiday is a scheduled day off, will be entitled to eight (8) hours of holiday leave for each holiday observed (including Personal Days). The leave must be used within one year of the holiday or the leave will_be forfeited. Employees must have holiday leave approved in advance. Department Heads are authorized to schedule holiday leave days off for employees, to manage holiday hours. Current: SECTION 3. EMPLOYMENT PROCESS: J: Service Awards: Awards Awards: Awards will be presented on a date established by the Town Council. Awards are distributed based on the following schedule. • 5 Years of Service - Certificate of Appreciation 10 Years of Service - Plaque 15 Years of Service - Plaque and $50 bonus • 20 Years of Service - Plaque and $100 bonus 25 Years of Service - Acrylic award and $150 bonus • 30 Years of Service - Acrylic award and $175 bonus • 35 Years of Service - Acrylic award and $200 bonus • 40 Years of Service - Acrylic award and $250 bonus
