A Resolution for the Street Naming for Sheriff F.R. Conner
WHEREAS, Frank R. Conner served his country in the U.S Army at a young age, before
becoming an officer for the Department of Corrections in 1959 and later joined the Pulaski
County Sheriff's Office in 1962,
WHEREAS, Frank R Conner was elected as Pulaski County's Sheriff in 1978 and served until
1991. After his retirement he was the first Cougar Assistance Security Guard at Pulaski County
High School and was elected from the Massie District to the Pulaski County Board of
Supervisors, where he served for 16 years and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Conner was also a member of the Pulaski County Public Service Authority's
Board of Directors, served as a member of the New River Valley Regional Jail Authority Board
of Directors and the Pepper's Ferry Waterwaste Treatment Authority and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Conner passed away in April 2021, and the Town wishes to recognize Mr.
Conner's commitment, dedication, and loyalty to the Town of Pulaski and Pulaski County,
Virginia,
NOW THEREFORE it be RESOLVED, by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia
sitting in regular session this 19th day of July 2022, that the Council does hereby name a portion
of Lafayette Ave, beside Pulaski County Sheriff's Office, as Sheriff F.R. Conner Dr.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 19th day of July 2022 by the
duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
