Resolution Adopting a Policy Concerning Participation in Hearings
by Electronic Means
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski adopted Resolution 2019-13 relative to a
policy concerning participation in hearings by electronic means in accordance with Va. Code
§2.2-3708.2 which required a written policy approved by the public body, such policy which was
Attachment A to that Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the General Assembly modified the Code of Virginia as it relates to the
participation in hearings by electronic means with an effective date of September 1, 2022, and
Va. Code §2.2-3708.3 is the new code section that governs such matters requiring adoption of a
written policy with an approval process by a public body for a member's participation in a
hearing by electronic communication in a situation other than a declared state of emergency; and
WHEREAS, the written policy, as amended to reference and comply with now Va. Code §2.2-
3708.3 is shown in Attachment A -Resolution 2022-42, entitled "Town Council Policy for
Remote Electronic Participation in Meetings", affixed hereto and expressly made part of this
resolution as if set forth herein, has been subject to review and comment by the Town Council of
the Town of Pulaski, Virginia;
NOW THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski,
Virginia, sitting in regular session this 6th day of September 2022, that the Town Council does
hereby adopt the amended policy for Council member participation in meetings by electronic
communication as shown in Attachment A Resolution 2022-42 entitled "Town Council Policy
for Remote Electronic Participation in Meetings", affixed hereto and expressly made part of this
resolution as if set forth herein.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 6th day of September 2022
by the duly recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
