Resolution Honoring Councilman Lane R. Penn Upon His Retirement
From the Town of Pulaski Town Council
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia desires to recognize and commend those
council members who, upon their retirement, who have rendered a career of service to the citizens of the Town
of Pulaski; and,
WHEREAS, Councilman, Lane Penn has served the Town as a councilman for the Town Council since 2004;
and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Penn also served the county as an employee with the Pulaski County Public School System
from 1997 through 2005 and the Pulaski County Public Service Authority from 2006 through 2015; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Penn has served on many boards and committees for the Town of Pulaski including Pepper's
Ferry Regional Wastewater Treatment Authority, chairman on the Pulaski Redevelopment and Housing
Authority, Greater Pulaski Alliance, and Pulaski County Emergency Communications Board; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Penn received the 2022-2023 Lifetime Achievement Award by the T.G. Howard Community
Center Board of Directors; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Penn will retire on December 2022 completing 24 years of service as a councilman; and,
NOW, THEREFORE be it RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia sitting in
regular session this 20t" day of December 2022, that the Town Council extends its sincerest thanks and
commendation to Councilman Lane R. Penn for his dedicated service to the citizens of the Town of Pulaski as a
member of Town of Pulaski, Town Council.
NOW, THEREFORE IT BE RESOLVED that the Town Council and Town Employees extend to Mr. Penn
their best wishes for an enjoyable and rewarding retirement.
This resolution is effective upon adoption and is hereby adopted this 20t' day of December 2022 by duly
recorded vote of the Town Council of the Town of Pulaski, Virginia as follows:
