Call to Order
Mr. Schrantz called the meeting to order due to the absence of Chairman Meyer at 6:17 PM.
Roll Call
A quorum was not determined as only two members were present.
Public Hearing
Mr. Schrantz called for the Public Hearing to discuss amendments to the transportation section of the town’s comprehensive plan to be recessed until February 20, 2024, at 7 PM due to
the lack of a quorum.
New Business
Update to zoning—Modular and Manufactured Housing
Mr. Grumbine from the Virginia Manufactured and Modular Housing Association presented about modular and Manufactured housing to commissioners. He provided an overview of the differences
between the types of manufactured and modular options on the market. He also discussed regulatory options and considerations regarding public health and safety, building and structural
soundness, foundation options, and how they are designed and inspected. He also cited examples of both projects in Virginia and discussed the considerations for these projects.
The Commissioners asked about model specifications and cost-benefits of modular, manufactured, and stick build.
They also expressed their interest in seeing the product firsthand. Mr. Grumbine mentioned an expo enabling Commissioners to do just that in mid-April, which will probably be held in
Wytheville.
Staff Report
Training opportunity
Ms. Bork mentioned two upcoming training opportunities, Land Use Education Program hosted by VCU and the Regional Commissioner Training hosted by the New River Valley Regional Commission
which is upcoming. She said that historically, the town has contributed to commissioner training, so if
commissioners are interested in either opportunity, please let her know, and she will figure out how the Town can assist.

Without the ability to act due to no quorum, Mr. Schrantz adjourned the meeting at 7:27 PM.
